Mark your calendars – USJF presents another interview with a Judo icon via Zoom, Sensei Robert Brink, on Sunday, Jan. 23, 1pm Pacific time. Sensei Brink is a Hall of Fame inductee, past USJF President, past NWJY leader, and has held many important and influential positions in US Judo for many, many years. He encourages Judo activity of all kinds and supports organizationally, financially, spiritually.

It looks like the Ore-Ida judo club will be holding a tournament on March 5. There aren’t a lot of current competition opportunities so if anyone is interested please let me know if you want to go.

The IJF has just published the rule changes for 2022.

This Saturday (12/11) is the 15th annual judo holiday party for Spokane Judo. We want everyone to come. If you haven’t been at practice in a while, (Sensei Oleg) take this chance to get back in touch. Bring something you want to share with (or unload on (think fruit cake)) other people, just remember we are going to all be on the mat together again.

After a more careful reading of the DOH order, it looks like we all need to wear masks while working out.
The order gives some exceptions to the mask order but it specifically says:
“This exception does not apply while the athlete, coach, or official is not actively engaged in the sporting, coaching, or officiating activity or to indoor gyms and other fitness facilities, such as dance, yoga, and martial arts facilities”
So put on a mask and come and workout (we will be adjusting practice to make this easier).
