Club Meeting

All:
Tomorrow evening we are going to end practice a bit early and hold a club meeting.
I have a few things I would like to discuss, but I am always willing to add any other judo related topics anyone would like us to address.
At present, I was thinking of discussing the following:

  1. Spokane Judo branded clothing.
  2. Best ways to recruit additional members.
  3. Kata clinic, what other events should we organize?
  4. What else?

See everyone tomorrow with all your ideas.

The End of Summer

Sadly Summer is over, but on the positive side, we can get back to more judo!
Hopefully all of you that took some time off are ready to get back on the mat and get back in shape.
We have cancelled practice for Monday 9/3 but Thursday 9/6 is on.
In addition, We are starting up Saturday practices again. This Saturday 9/8 will be the first one.
I look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday!

Taking off Saturdays for a while

We have had a few dedicated individuals determined to improve their judo consistently coming to practice these days, but since I think weekends in the summer are difficult for most people, we are going to cancel Saturday practices for a few weeks.
Based on popular demand, we will start them up again.

In the mean time, we still have our regular practices. We get to focus on technique and fundamental skill development, so make judo part of a great summer and come on Monday and Thursday.
Hope to see everyone at practice.

Pacific Judo & Spokane Judo Demonstration

Last weekend as part of the Hoopfest activities, Pacific Judo was asked to put on a judo demonstration.
The demonstration was part of the half time show for one of the pre-hoopfest basketball games on Friday.
Sensei Paul Ziegman at Pacific put together an excellent demonstration which he practiced extensively prior to the event. The result was an extremely professional display that highlighted many of the skills and techniques that are part of judo.
Spokane Judo had Miles Lewis and Alaina Gott participate.
Here is a video of the demonstration.
